Data Access Permissions Settings – Google Analytics
Google provides the option to allow other users to access data from any site you monitor. To create login credentials for other users in Google Analytics, go to the User Manager tool on your Google Analytics account page for your website.
Only the Google Analytics account owner can set up logins for other users. You cannot create connections for other Google Analytics accounts. To access the site data stored in the account, any other user will need a username and password. Those who do not yet have an account can sign up at Accounts.google.com. Google uses the account’s login details to verify the identity of other users.
How to Add a User in Google Analytics
Once logged into Google Analytics, you need to access your site’s account to grant access to the client. At the bottom of the screen, you will find the User Manager function.
Select Add User. You will need to enter the first name, last name, and email address of the user you want to add in the input fields. The email address must match the Google Account email of the user you are adding.
Access Settings in Google Analytics
The platform allows you to assign access levels for each user individually. In addition to the username, you must select the access level from the Access Type dropdown. At the same time, you can restrict other users from viewing reports or grant them administrator status so they can edit account settings.
Profile Settings in Google Analytics
After setting the access levels for a user, you can select which site profile reports each user can access. Site profiles typically track specific pages or types of data, such as the number of people visiting a product verification page. If you haven’t configured a site profile, you can skip this step. Otherwise, select the profile from the left panel, then click “Add” to move the profile to the “Selected Site Profiles” list.
You can add an unlimited number of users, but the process must be repeated for each one. Once you’ve added a user, send them an email to notify them that they have access to the account. To log in, they will need an email address and password. Providing clients, advertisers, or collaborators with access to account data can build trust. Additionally, it allows others to independently evaluate the success of your website or individual marketing and traffic-generation campaigns.
